Hindu Society: Garba 2017 | University of Portsmouth Students’ Union

Nisha Kapur, Hindu Society President, said: “Garba is a form of dance which is celebrated during the Hindu festival of Navratri. The dance is performed around a central statue of the Goddess Durga, who represents strength. This annual event is a great way to encourage the youth to stay in touch with their culture, along with anyone interested in Hinduism, bringing people together to experience an enjoyable evening full of colour, dance and music – precisely what our culture represents as a whole.”
